Medical treatments


​​If you have ever taken your guinea pig to the vet or otherwise treated them for a condition, you can help provide
valuable data for Wheektown’s research on guinea pig medical treatments. You can share information on any
​medications, diagnostic tests, and surgeries they have had.
​

Report the success, failure, or side effects of a medication your guinea pig has taken

Share x-rays, CT scans, endoscopic photos, and other diagnostic images and techniques
 
Report the success, failure, or side effects of a surgery your guinea pig has undergone 
​

Diet and edibility


​If your guinea pig has ever had malocclusion, bloat, or bladder stones — or even if they haven’t — then you can help provide valuable data for Wheektown’s research on the relationship between diet and disease. You can also share information on any unusual fruits, vegetables, or other plants that you have fed your guinea pigs to help us get a better understanding of the edibility of these foods.

 
Report the occurrence (or absence) of malocclusion in your guinea pig

Report the occurrence (or absence) of bloat and other gastric diseases in your guinea pig

Report the occurence (or absence) of bladder stones and other liths in your guinea pig

Report the edibility of a fruit, vegetable, forage, or other plant


Report the occurrence and the outcome of choking

​If your guinea pig suffers from a congenital defect (a problem they were born with), has ever been pregnant, has a special need (such as blindness, deafness, paralysis, epilepsy, Diabetes, etc), or otherwise has a health condition, you can help provide valuable data for Wheektown’s research on the prevalence and management of disease.
