Wheektown is an education initiative that focuses on the research of guinea pig anatomy, husbandry, and health, and the reproduction of information.

The shelter portion of the organisation has closed for the foreseeable future. If you are looking to surrender or adopt, please see the rescue database for alternative shelters.
If you are looking for wide-tipped Critical Care syringes, please see VioVet's 15mL syringes here.
If you are looking for larger syringes (60-70 mL), google 'toomey' syringes.

THE GUINEA PIG INITIATIVE

The aim is to assemble the most comprehensive encyclopedia on guinea pig evolution, history, biology, development, reproduction, psychology, nutrition, husbandry, and disease.

Due to the size of the project - maybe if I live for a thousand years I could make a dent - I have decided to upload each subchapter as I finish it, in both the form of a scientific paper (for researchers) and an easy-to-understand series of Facebook posts (for pet owners). Also due to the size, the name has been re-titled from just the encyclopedia to The Guinea Pig Initiative, because chances are this will never be complete enough to publish as an encyclopaedia.
