To increase the number of guinea pigs being adopted out, Wheektown provides transport of all our animals to the adopter to virtually anywhere in Australia.

Ground transport
$25 fee For those along the eastern coast, we rely on an animal transport service called Dogmovers. They run every week or every fortnight depending on the route. Wheektown covers the cost of transport up to $100, with adopters paying the difference after that amount; generally this means we cover entirely the cost of transport within Victoria and most of New South Wales. Adopters will need to meet Dogmovers at a specified time and location along the route in order to pick up the guinea pigs. You may request that they drop off closer to your home, though they charge $50 per half hour travelled outside the route and this will need to be covered by you. The $25 fee covers the cost of a carrier which you can then keep when they arrive.
Air transport
$50 fee For those outside the Dogmovers route, we can transport animals via Qantas. This is available most days. Wheektown covers the cost of transport up to $100, with adopters paying the difference after that amount. Examples of differences are $100 to Adelaide, $100 to Darwin, $200 to Perth, and $100 to Hobart. Adopters will need to pick the guinea pigs up from their airport. The $50 fee covers the cost of an airline-approved carrier which you can then keep when they arrive.
