Donation of monetary goods


​Please note that donations over $2 are tax deductible. Please ask us for a receipt if you wish to claim on tax.

Donation of physical goods
​

​FOOD
  • Fresh fruits and vegetables
    • Especially corn husks, capsicum, cos lettuce, coriander, carrot greens, squash greens, and strawberry greens.
    • Please no garlic, onion, iceberg lettuce, pineapple, potato, or large amounts from the cabbage family.
  • Weeds and forages
    • Especially dandelion flowers and young leaves, plantain,  clover, rose petals, apple leaves, and willow leaves, collected in the last half an hour.
    • Please no plants of questionable identification or any that may have been sprayed.
  • Fresh grass
    • Especially green blades collected in the last half an hour and which have no weeds or other plants mixed in.
    • Please no dying or yellowed grass, lawnmower cuttings, or anything that may have been contaminated by animal urine or faeces.
  • Hay
    • Especially fresh green oaten or barley hay.
    • Please no straw, yellowed hay, or anything that has become wet, mouldy, or otherwise unsuitable.
  • Pellets
    • Especially Oxbow adult guinea pig pellets.
    • Please no rabbit mixes, seed mixes, homebrand mixes, or anything other than Oxbow, Burgess, or Vetafarm.
​HOUSING AND ENRICHMENT
  • Wooden chews
    • Especially willow, apple, or mulberry branches.
    • Please no branches that may have been sprayed or wooden chews that have been treated.
  • Toys
    • Especially wooden chews, plastic balls with bells inside, and rolling toys.
    • Please no fabric or scented toys.
  • Houses
    • Especially large pigloos, wooden houses, plastic or wooden tunnels, snuggle sacks, and other fleece houses.
    • Please no small pigloos or wooden houses that have been treated.
  • Water bottles and bowls
    • Especially flip-top bottles and flat ceramic bowls.
    • Please no damaged bottles or bowls.
  • Cage liners
    • Especially the protective bed pads from Kmart or microfibre bath mats.
    • Please no really stained liners.
  • Fleece
    • Especially fleece sheets that are 90 cm x 230 cm or 160 cm x 230 cm in size.
    • Please no fleece sheets smaller than 90 cm x 115 cm.
  • Towels
    • Especially soft bath towels.
    • Please no towels with very loose pilling.
